Do I think we’ll be seeing Ellie do "Love Me Like You Do" on a television show in the near future? I really doubt it. There are multiple appealing songs on this Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack that combine the music sensibilities of Electronica, Jazz, Chillout, pop etc. WTF? Shame the first live performance did not occur at “Ellen”, “SNL”, “Letterman” or at the BRIT Awards that were recently held in London (you know…the city where Ellie LIVES in). After hearing the compelling song of Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding on youtube, I became interested in purchasing The Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack (which I did on January 30, 2015). So why isn't Ellie given the chance to promote "Love Me Like You Do"? I doubt she’s refusing and she clearly has the time because she has no own music to promote currently.Īnyhow, imagine my surprise to see that the very first live performance of "Love Me Like You Do" happened at a private HP event in Barcelona, Spain earlier this week during Mobile World Congress.
The Weeknd performed "Earned It" on "The Tonight Show". Crazy, right? The Max Martin-produced mid-tempo pop composition is undoubtedly the best-performing song from the whole OST of the “Grey” movie, so why isn't Republic Records booking a high-profile television show for Ellie to perform "Love Me Like You Do" live? I don’t get it.
